尊敬的老师，亲爱的同学们：

大家上午好！

我是初一8班的王一博，今天我演讲的主题是：《阅读点亮智慧，书香润泽心灵》。人间四月天，正是读书时！在这春暖花开的日子里，我们共同迎来了世界读书日。同学们，我们为什么要读书呢?

Dear teachers, students:

Good morning, everyone!

I'm Yuan Shi ya from the Class 8, Grade 7and today the title of my speech is: "Reading lights up wisdom, and it lights up our soul.In April, it is the time to read! In spring,  the World Book Day is coming.Students, why do we need to read?

读书能够养志。行之所至，便是远方。读书养志，养的便是青云之志。岳飞的“莫等闲，白了少年头，空悲切”、曹操的“烈士暮年，壮心不已”、杜牧的“江东子弟多才俊，卷土重来未可知”，读书能增长见识，只有眼界开阔，才能志存高远。

Reading can develop ambition. Wherever you go, you go far away. Reading to raise the ambition, is to raise the ambition of the clouds. reading can be Only with a broader vision can we improve to a higher level.

读书能够养性。惟之所往，便是成长。古人云：“腹有诗书气自华。”读书养性，养的便是温文尔雅的脾性。爱读书的人温润如玉，心有惊雷，生似静湖。读书能够养心。心之所有，便是方向。宠辱不惊，看庭前花开花落；平心静气，望天上云卷云舒。在书中感受茫茫自然，向往人间天外。养淡然超脱之心，蓄平和自在之气。

那么面对眼花缭乱的书籍，我们要怎样去取舍呢？

我认为我们可以多读一些名人传记，来激励我们奋发成才的意志；也可以多读一些科普书籍，来激发我们探索宇宙奥秘的兴趣。再读一些史书吧，他们可以让我们看成败、鉴得失；再读一些诗歌吧，他们可以让我们情飞扬、志高昂、人灵秀。

Reading can develop one's character. Reading can make us grow. As the old saying goes, "With poetry and books makes you wealthy." Reading make us gentle and make our heart peace, and their lives becoming better.Reading can develop the heart. The heart of all, is the direction. In the book, we find our way and calm our minds.

So when we meet different kinds of books, how are we going to choose?

I think we can read more biographies of famous people to inspire our ambition; we can also read more popular science books to stimulate our interest in the world. And then read some history books, they can let us see the success or failure, identify the loss; and then read some poetry, they can let us feel good.

那么我们该怎样读书呢？

当拿到一本书的时候，首先应大略地读一读书的题要，让自己对这本书有大体的了解。然后要把读书中各章节的标题变为问题，一边粗读一边提问，这可以激发好奇心，提升我们的阅读兴趣。之后我们就可以细读了，重要且难解的部分反复读，边圈点边思考。

同学们，让我们在世界读书日的号召下，积极投身到读书活动中吧，让阅读点亮我们的智慧，让书香润泽我们的心灵！

So how should we read?

When you get a book, first of all, you should read the title of the book, so that you have a general idea of the book. Then we should turn the titles of the chapters in the book into questions and ask questions while extensive reading, which can enhance curiosity and enhance our reading interest. After that we can read carefully understand the part of the repeated reading, while circling and thinking.

Students, let’s  in the call of the day, actively involved in reading activities, let reading light up our wisdom, light up our hearts!
