尊敬的老师们，亲爱的同学们：

大家上午好！今天，我在国旗下讲话的题目是《努力拼搏，超越自我》。

时光如梭，白驹如隙。转眼间，半个学期即将过去，在本周即将迎来期中考试。临近考试，我们应更加努力取得优异的成绩，不负老师的殷殷教诲。

Dear teachers and classmates!：

Good morning!Today, we’d like to talk about how to improve ourselves greatly by working hard.

How time flies! As half a term goes by, the coming mid-term exam is coming this Wednesday. To live up to our teachers’ expectations, we should study harder to get higher marks.

So, how on earth should we prepare for the mid-term exam?

人的记忆遗忘规律告诉我们，遗忘是必然的，世上从来就没有过目不忘的人，所以，我们每个人都要重视考前的复习。孔子说：“温故而知新”，就是告诉我们学习要重视复习。所有成绩优秀的同学肯定是肯吃苦、肯钻研、认真复习并掌握科学的学习方法的人。所以，我们要在老师的指导下，把学过的知识认真整理、归纳，并全面系统地进行复习。当老师带领大家复习的时候，一定要认真听讲，紧跟老师的思路，这样才会达到事半功倍的效果。

As we all know, it’s easy and certain for humans to forget things. One can never have such a good memory that everything can always be remembered without memorizing it. Therefore, each of us must pay much attention to the reviews before the exam. Confucius said: "gain new knowledge by reviewing the old", whose purpose is to tell us to pay attention to reviews when studying. All the top students are surely those who are willing to study hard, review carefully and know the right way to study. Therefore, following the teachers’ advice on reviews, we must carefully organize and summarize all the knowledge we have learned. When the teacher leads everyone to review, make sure to listen carefully and keep up with the teachers. In this way, you can gain more with less work.

考试对我们来说虽是一种压力，但我们只要学会负重就不会跌倒；考试有时会带来挫折，但它同时能磨练我们强劲、坚韧的心灵；考试更是一种机遇，因为它能提升我们自身的素质。就如一首歌中唱到：“不经历风雨怎能见彩虹”。我相信，同学们只要认真复习，保持良好的心理状态，就一定能取得理想的成绩。

The exam make us feel nervous and stressed. However, we won’t fall behind only if we learn to face it. Although the exam may end with a failure and bring setbacks, it can bring us a strong will. It is also an opportunity because it can check improve our abilities. As a song says, we can only see the rainbow after rain falls. I believe that the students who have carefully reviewed and are positive will be sure to get cheerful grades.

“一分耕耘，一分收获”，只有不懈的努力，才能得到相应的成绩。苏轼曾言：“古之成大事者，不惟有起世之才，亦必有坚忍不拔之志”。成大事者不仅仅有超人的才能，更有坚韧不拔的意志。在学习中我们只有凭借不懈的努力，坚韧不拔的意志，方可战胜学习中的困难。常言道：“困难如弹簧，看你强不强，你强它就弱，你弱它就强。”只有我们不懈的努力，顽强拼搏，困难也就算不得困难。也许我们做不到孙敬苏秦般悬梁刺股，但我们也应对自己狠一点，去拼搏一把，去奋斗一把！

另外，我们一定要有三心！首先，树立信心，相信自己，确立目标，我们才会有努力的动力，才能在学习中坚持不懈。而后，务必细心，考场之上，我们必须认真读题，将自己会做的题争取做对。再者，坚持恒心，一天或几天的坚持学习不难，难在每天都能坚持学习，考试过后，我们更要坚持。

No pain, no gain. One can only get cheerful grades through hard work. Su Shi once said, "The great people in history have not only excellent abilities, but also strong wills." When learning, we need strong wills to overcome the difficulties in our study . As the saying goes, “The difficulty is like a spring. If you are strong, it will be weak. If you are weak, it will be strong." By keeping working hard, difficulties are not difficult. Maybe we can't work so hard as Sun Jing and Su Qin who were so hard on themselves, but we should also push ourselves harder!

In addition, we must have three qualities! First of all, we must have confidence in ourselves, believe in ourselves, and set our own goals. As a result, we will want to keep working hard. Besides, be careful and try to finished the exam papers as correctly as possible when taking exams. Last but not least, keep studying. It is not difficult to keep studying for one day or a few days. It is difficult to keep on learning every day, day after day after the exam.

同学们，阳光依旧灿烂，天空依旧明朗。期中考试是人生的又一次磨炼机遇，那么就让我们在今后的短短的几天内，厉兵秣马，用我们的信心和努力去收获期中的硕果，去铸就光辉明天，实现我们的人生庄严的豪迈誓言。谢谢大家！

Classmates, the sun is still bright and clear. The mid-term exam is one more chance to develop ourselves in our life. Let us make full preparations for it the coming short period of time. Be confident and study hard to harvest our own crops in autumn. Wish us all to have a bright future and realize our dream. Thank you for your attention!
